International News - Claire Brady competed in the 2nd European Athletics Team Championship in Budapest (HUN) this weekend    Clare finished 4th in a very tight 100m. Brady along with 2 other athletes clocked 11.64. This time is just outside of her best time of 11.60 but she will be delighted with her placing and points.

Seye Ogunlewe competed as part of the irish squad in Bedford and ran a fantastic fast 10.77 in the u20 100, to finish 7th in final.  Unfortunately this is just outside the time for the world juniors of 10.64.  However, Seye will travel to Maanheim in Germany in the coming weeks and try to secure this time.  Seye has already made the qualifying time for the 200m for the worlds to be held in Canada later in the year.

Sandra Lawlor also competing in Bedford in the u23 hurdles finished in 6th place in a very fast time of 14.48 secs.

u13 - u19 Leinster Champs - Tullamore -  A small number of athletes travelled to Tullamore this weekend where the athletes battled it out to win medals and secure a place in the National Championships to be held in July.  Christine Campion Won the girls u15 80m Hurdles in12.48 secs which is just outside the Championship best performance record of 12.4 held by our own Ciara Kearns.  Christine also had a great race in the 100m to take 4th place.  Sinead Lawlor had a great day winning the girls u18 100m and coming second in the u18 100m hurdles.  Eoin Moore threw over 35m in the boys u18 javelin to win the silver medal.  Vivian Fleischer won the bronze medal in the girls u16 long jump with a jump of 4.60m and also finished 4th in the 100m hurdles.  Alan Carroll had a great competition in the boys u14 high jump to secure the bronze medal with a jump of 1.40m.  Christine Campion, Laura Smyth and Shauna Minnock also picked up a bronze medal with the county relay team.  Although it was a scorcher of a weekend this presented a lot of problems with athletes becoming dehydrated but our athletes did us proud.  We should also mention Danny Cahill who came 5th in boys u14 javelin, Lorcan Everard who has really improved this year finishing 5th in the 100m and 200m in very tight races.  Ciaran Wilson, Matthew Dwyer, Shauna Minnock,  Laura Smyth, Brian Moore, Jack Kyle, Jack Deasy and  Katie Donaghty also competed and did very well. Full results later on www.athleticsleinster.com  Timetable for the Nationals HERE page 5  For all the above athletes who finished outside the top 4 positions you can compete in the B national championships in Tullamore on 1st August.

Dublin Championships -  Congratulations to Kieron Stout who competed in the Dublin Champs in the Senior Discus and finished in 3rd place with a new PB of  38.20 for which he is delighted!!! Well done!
